On the morning of May 16, Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal, a member of the Saudi Arabian royal family and Chairman of KBW Motor, visited China BluePark, the headquarters of BAIC BJEV. Khaled spoke highly of the achievements made by BAIC BJEV, especially its package solutions, including the electric vehicle switching mode. Witnessed by Ramzi Abughoush, General Manager of KBW Motor, Zhang Xiaoming, Deputy General Manager of BAIC International, and Li Yixiu, Deputy General Manager of BAIC BJEV and General Manager of BAIC BJEV Marketing Company, Khalid and Li Ji, Deputy General Manager of BAIC International, officially signed an exclusive distribution agreement of electric vehicles in Jordanian market. BAIC International and KBW Motor will focus on the cooperation of pure electric vehicles, increase the market development efforts in Jordan and the Middle East, and build an international cooperation platform for the development of new energy automotive industry that based on cutting-edge technological fields such as electrification and intelligence.

On the afternoon of May 16, Khaled visited the BAIC Industry Research and Development Base. Jiang Zili, Deputy General Manager of BAIC Group, accompanied the visit. The two parties exchanged and discussed on promoting the Belt and Road Initiative and the high quality development through the whole value chain model, shared the research and development achievements and product advantages of BAIC BJEV, determined the intention of project cooperation and development, and worked out an action plan to jointly boost project implementation.

In November 2017, KBW Motor signed a project cooperation framework agreement with the Jordanian government. Wei Huacheng, Vice Chairman of BAIC Group, attended the signing ceremony and witnessed the opening of the cooperation. In April 2018, BAIC BJEV’s sample car successfully completed field tests in Jordan. According to the signed agreement, BAIC’s pure electric vehicles will enter Jordanian market in batches and provide official travel services for the Jordanian government. The first order is 1,500 vehicles, including BAIC BJEV’s EU5 and EX360. In the future, BAIC will launch comprehensive strategic cooperation with KBW Motor in the areas of localization production, industrial services, and project development for electric vehicles, providing a complete set of green, convenient and smart travel solutions for the Jordanian and Middle East markets.

Xu Heyi, chairman of BAIC Group, has repeatedly stressed that to speed up the globalization layout and promote BAIC to go abroad by virtue of the Belt and Road Initiative. The cooperation between BAIC and KBW Motor is an important implementation for the Belt and Road Initiative in the field of electric vehicles, which will use the whole value chain model to promote the global development of green travel. Based on BAIC BJEV's research and development strength, product advantages and commercialized operating experience in the field of pure electric vehicles, BAIC International will provide consumers in Middle East with complete and advanced products and services. For China’s electric vehicle industry, this is an important step for the production capacity to participate in global competition.
